Without doubt, Mike was the best bass guitarist for many square metres on the Argyle Estate,  Wimbledon.

Considering that Reginald was the only musician within their known circle, owning a bass guitar qualified Mike as a more competent band member than all of the others. This when the very first embers of the forest fire that became the Pants were being quietly fanned, up to the time of their premature burn-out (sic).
